Design is not a random act of creativity, but an informed translation of customer needs and desires

Design

For over four decades, design has been at the centre of my working universe. I have been lucky enough to have a career that has enriched my life, allowing me to meet and work with some real characters. I've worked on projects large and small for companies equally large and small. In many cases the projects I've worked on have changed lives for the better. Not just the end user has benefitted, but many jobs have been created or maintained in the wake of a products' success. There is considerable responsibility in the work we do.

In recent years I have been able to focus on my own designs, with the added benefit of making them myself, with my own hands. It truly is a joy to form an idea on paper and make it a real thing. The process becomes complete, with no element remote and the outcome entirely and literally in your own hands.

Alongside my own work, design consultancy has been focussed on serious projects that truly make a difference to peoples lives. Work has been in the area of prosthetic limbs for amputees and specialist seating for young children with physical disabilities.

With time comes experience and I've learned much over the years that has refined my 'design thinking'. I am able to share some of this experience in creative workshops, helping to unlock your own and your team's creativity. Fun, facilitated sessions at your own place of work, or away from your regular environment adding a different perspective and a vibrant creative injection. Either way, I can tailor sessions to fit your needs. Have a look at the 'Consultancy' page for more information.
